The Museum is grateful to have received a donation from Tim and Nigel Gammon. It comes in the form of a quantity of fuses, taken by their father from German bombs in Portsmouth and other places. The donation included literature about the fuses and bomb disposal. The fuses are, of course, inert now.
The fuses are now on display in the Battle of Britain Hall at the museum, close to the Stuka engine. The display includes a copy of their father’s write up about how some of them were removed from the bombs. This includes 2 pictures of their father. Hanging above the fuses display is an explosive device of the type that was hung beneath barrage balloons.
The pair also made a generous financial donation to the Museum. Tim said they were pleased and proud of the display and hope to visit the museum again soon with their son.
