De Havilland Vampire T11

The Vampire has risen, well not exactly but the Museums restoration that started sometime after 2008 has finally been completed and on Tuesday 3rd October preparations were put in place to actually move the aircraft, and a short move a few metres was achieved.

On Thursday 5th October the aircraft was taken out of the hangar to move the Folland Gnat into the restoration space for its restoration to start.

The Vampire was then moved back into its new position at the front of the hangar for the public to see it on days when it is favourable to have the hangar doors open.

For those of you that don’t know much about this aircraft, it is in some areas made of wood, so it needs to always stay in the hangar..
