Tangmere Military Aviation Museum are delighted to announce the date for the annual Battle of Britain Service.
The service is to be held at St Andrews Church, Tangmere on Sunday 17 September 2023, at 3.00pm. It is held to remember all those who fought, died and survived the Battle, both on the ground and in the air.
The Battle was fought in the skies over southern England between July and October 1940. As one of the Sector Control Stations within 11 Group on the South Coast, Tangmere, along with Biggin Hill and other bases bore the brunt of the air battle, thus helping RAF Fighter Command, along with the other RAF Commands, to stop a German invasion of Britain.
