The museum is open every day from 14 February – 29 November. Last admissions are one hour before closing each day and the shop closes 30 minutes before the museum closing time.

Plentiful and free, with disabled spaces and step-free access to the museum. Free minibus and coach parking is also available.
Never more than a couple of minutes, even at peak times, although for big events it’s advisable to purchase tickets online in advance and join the fast track line.
Everything is included in the price, including group guided tours, talks and the Lightning simulator. For group tours it’s best to book in advance (see below) and for talks, see our Events page for what’s on. For personal tours, speak to one of our guides.
We regret only assistance dogs are permitted in the Museum buildings. Dogs are allowed in the grounds and picnic area.
The majority of the exhibits and attractions are inside, so it’s the perfect place to come if it’s raining!

Adult groups are welcome.
Group Rate: A 10% discount is applied for groups of 12 or more providing the visit is booked in advance and that payment is made by single monetary transaction.
Car & Motorcycle Clubs: We welcome clubs to the museum and cafe, but would appreciate advance warning in order to facilitate parking. Group club bookings for the museum must be made in advance using the form below.
We regret that we are no longer able to accept requests for group visits by ‘phone. Please use the group visit request form below.

Many of the aircraft and artefacts inside the museum are contained in large hangers which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so it is advised to dress appropriately.
Hot weather: During periods of extreme heat the museum will remain open as usual. Please note that some areas inside the museum can become warmer than outside during hot weather. We recommend bringing water, dressing appropriately and taking regular breaks, especially if you are visiting with young children, are older, or have a health condition that may be affected by heat.
Food & drink: No food or drink can be consumed in the museum or memorial garden, with the exception of bottled water.
A free map of the Museum’s main exhibits will be issued with your entry tickets when you arrive.

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum lies approximately three miles East of Chichester in West Sussex and is clearly signposted from the A27.
Approach from the A27 where the museum and Tangmere are clearly signposted from both directions. The Museum lies just outside Tangmere village and there is ample free parking.
The Number 500 Bus runs from Chichester Bus station to Littlehampton, via Tangmere.
Buses no longer terminate at the Museum; the nearest stop is now Church Lane (500 west-bound), about a 5 minute walk, or Copper Beech Drive (500, east-bound), about a 7 minute walk. Buses run every 30 minutes or hourly on Sundays.
The nearest station travelling from London or the east is Barnham. Travelling from the west the nearest station is Chichester. Both stations are served by the 500 bus service, which stops close to the museum.
The nearest airports are GATWICK and SOUTHAMPTON, both of which have easy road and rail access to the museum. The nearest airfield is GOODWOOD (ICAO:EGHR IATA:QUG) which is three miles to the west.
If you are attending an event at Goodwood, the museum is within easy access, just three miles to the east.
The STAGECOACH 55 BUS stops close to the circuit and hill climb events, or the event shuttle will take you to Chichester station.
