One of the Museum’s business plan objectives for 2022 is to reduce our energy costs and the majority of our lights have now been replaced with LEDs. Visitors to the Museum will now also see when entering the car park what looks something like a phased radar array antenna on the front of the Merston aircraft hall.
The panels are not of course a radar antenna but are 24 south facing solar panels, installed to reduce our electricity costs. It is estimated that this installation will reduce our energy costs by approximately 20% per year.
